Final
Entry Size if Using a 2 Panel Slider
|
|||
| First, determine the total opening of your shower. In this case let's say its 44". | |||
| Then choose a sliding door that looks like it ought to fit. Let's say you pick one that will fit a shower from 44" to 48". | |||
| The critical measurement in this instance is the 48". The glass panel size is about half of the largest width, so half of 48" is 24". Already you can see that your total opening 44" minus the 24" panel gives an entry opening of 20". Now you need to subtract another inch or so for the side jamb. So your entry opening is now down to 19". Can you live with an opening that's only 19" wide? | |||
| A better choice for your 44" shower would be a door that fits a 40" to 44" opening. Half of 44" is 22" and your opening of 44" less the 22" glass panel leaves 22". Now subtract the 1" for the side jamb and you will have a final entry opening of 21". Only a two inch gain, but definitely an improvement. | |||
| The best choice for a shower of 44" is our "Door and Panel" type enclosure. The final entry opening is about 27". | |||
| Another good choice for these showers would be a 3 Panel Slider with an easy clean track, or the new "Kleara" 2 Panel Pivot by Maax. | |||
